Keltoff by WarrenLouw
Keltoff
Last week the guys at Chameleon http://www.chameleonpens.com/ sent me a set of their newly launched markers to test out.

These work a bit differently to any other marker out there with it's innovative blending ability. This is done by the marker being in two parts, the toner and then the marker itself. You remove the toner section to connect with the markers brush tip which causes the ink to berepelled creating a lighter shade. Then as you colour, the original ink slowly comes back, creating a smooth blend.

These were a lot of fun to use but challenging at times since I couldn't always keep a certain shade for as long as I needed without needing to reapply the toner, which I did often. Other than that, achieving blends were very successful and in some ways easier than blending with Copic. It just takes a bit of practice to begin with.

A real awesome thing about these markers, is that a full set of 22 of them is mostly all you'll ever need (with all of each markers range of shades) instead of needing to buy hundreds of individual markers.

I noticed that the brisque marker is awesome for skin when used with the cool grey. For the eyes I used the cool grey for the base then added bark, purple grape and summer sun. Lips were brisque with bubble gum and cool grey. For the hair, I used bark, cool grey, royal blue and sky blue.

Oh! The fine liner it comes with is pretty awesome too with .4mm and .6mm tips.

Anyway, just thought I'd share :) it's worth checking out a vid of how these things work. It's pretty smart! Here's their FB page too: www.facebook.com/ChameleonPens

Sadness by WarrenLouw
Sadness
Been realizing more and more lately just how important real emotion is, not just in artwork, but in real life too. From here I definitely will be focusing on far more studies on all this.

Illustnation Demo by WarrenLouw
Illustnation Demo
Ok, so I don't know if Illustnation Mexico has made any official announcements yet, but it doesnt look like it will be happening this year. Here is the artwork I was going to demo for a 45 minute segment. The lines and flat colours were already prepared for the show, I just had to paint as much as I could fit in for the demo.

The painting alone that you see here took me about 1 hour, 15min, but had been practicing to speed that up for the show.

Oh well, at least I learned a lot preparing for it all!

Dante by WarrenLouw
Dante
Here's my take on Dante from Devil May Cry. This took a bit longer to complete since Im not too comfy with this source of light, but knew enough to eventually figure it out. Took about 4-5 hours to complete. No reference used aside from a little for his jacket. Im really enjoying these.

Squall Leonhart by WarrenLouw
Squall Leonhart
Thought I would do a warm up sketch... ended up being a bit more than that. Lol. This is Squall from Final Fantasy 8. My personal favourite FF. No ref used at all. 2.30 - 3 hours to complete. So happy with it

So I decided to go a bit more public and sell my signed A3 prints (16.5" x 11.7") internationally for $15 (excluding shipping).

If you are interested, please email me and let me know what youre after and I'll get back to you. If Im out of stock of any, I'll make sure to get restocked, but that could take up to 3 days to process.
